Commercial EV Charger Installation

Abbey Electrical Services are ROLEC approved and are offering the supply and installation of Electric Car chargers.

An electric vehicle charging station is equipment that connects an electric vehicle to a source of electricity to recharge electric vehicles, neighborhood electric vehicles and plug-in hybrids. Some charging stations have advanced features such as smart metering which helps you keep an eye on your total consumption, other stations also have cellular capability and network connectivity, while others are usually more basic.
If your business doesn’t already own electric vehicles, or doesn’t have any staff/customers/visitors that need the facilities, it’s inevitable that this scenario will soon be changing given the growing rate of electric vehicle ownership and external pressures for greener business and transport.

Does your business qualify.

To qualify, your business must have off-street parking. Your business does not need to own an electric vehicle however you do need to declare either a current need for EV charging infrastructure or an intention to encourage uptake amongst your staff and/or fleet.

What is the Workplace Charging Scheme (WCS)?

The Workplace Charging Scheme (WCS) is a government scheme for electric vehicles offered by the Office for Low Emission Vehicles (OLEV).

  • The WCS reduces the purchase and installation cost of a new workplace charging station (single socket) by 75% (capped at £500 per socket).
  • A single business can claim for up to a maximum of 20 charge points (e.g. 20 single socket or 10 double socket charge points).
  • You can’t retrospectively claim for existing charge points on your premises.

Why should you have a EV Charger Installed at your business?

1) Gives your employees the incentive to buy an electric vehicle.

2) You will have the option to charge staff and visitors a competitive price for EV charging (compared to plugging in at home)

3) Customers stay for longer. EV charging stations can motivate customers to stay and browse for longer with straightforward parking facilities that can simultaneously provide charging benefits.

4)  Electric charging points at work will make life easier for employees, reducing time spent seeking out where to charge.
