Mrs Wellbourne had an out dated consumer unit containing rewirable fuses which was in need of replacement. We arranged a convenient day to change the fuse board because it meant losing mains power for around 4 hours.
We isolated the supply, removed the old fuse board, fitted the new consumer unit and reconnected the existing circuits. We tested and inspected the new consumer unit complete with RCD protection and provided an Electrical Installation Certificate.
We also registered the work as required under Part P of the building regulations. Mrs Wellbourne is now able to simply reset the trip switch as opposed to having to fit new fuse wire in the event of a fault occurring.
